Don't wait
until spring.

The worst time to deal with an engine problem is when everyone else is trying to get back on the water.

If your boat is already being hauled out, the offseason is the right time to address:

  • A tired engine
  • Lost power
  • Reliability concerns
  • Needed repairs
  • An overdue refresh
  • A planned performance upgrade

Use the winter to get the work done now instead of losing part of next boating season waiting on an engine.

Common
questions.

Why rebuild a marine engine over the winter?

Because the boat is already out of the water. Doing the work in the offseason means the engine is back in the boat and sorted before the season starts, instead of losing weeks of next summer waiting on parts and shop time while everyone else is trying to get back on the water.

I am not in Michigan. Can Sterling still do the work?

Yes. Sterling works with marine customers well beyond Michigan and ships engines nationwide. Sterling pays up to $500 toward shipping your engine to the shop in Milford, so distance does not have to decide who builds your engine.

How much does Sterling pay toward shipping?

Up to $500 toward getting your engine to Sterling. You cover anything above that. There is no deadline on this and it is not a limited time discount.

How do I get the engine out of the boat?

Sterling can work with you, your marina, your mechanic, or your rigger to coordinate removal, preparation, and transportation. If you do not have someone lined up, Sterling can help connect you with a trusted marine rigger.

What marine engines does Sterling rebuild?

Inboard marine power built on Mercury, Volvo, and Crusader, naturally aspirated, supercharged, or turbocharged. Sterling builds for pleasure boats, performance boats, poker run boats, and offshore racing programs.

Is the engine tested before it comes back?

Yes. Every Sterling engine is broken in, run on the dyno, calibrated, and verified before it leaves Milford. The number on the dyno sheet is the number you take to the water.
